Monmouth Executive Airport Announces New FAA Approved Instrument Approaches to 250 Feet AGL
The team at Monmouth Executive Airport (KBLM) announces that it has successfully solicited approval from the FAA which has just published 2 new LPV approach procedures for runway 14 and 32 at BLM.
Both approaches have Decision Altitudes of 250 AGL with visibility requirements of 1 mile. After 5 years of the FAA diligently trying to schedule the development of these approaches into their heavy backlog, the owners of KBLM decided to expedite the development of these LPV approaches by privately funding them and retaining the services of Flight Tech Engineering (an FAA authorized Navigation Service Provider). Flight Tech Engineering surveyed the airport and approach surfaces, created the proposed LPV approaches, and presented all the data to the FAA team. The FAA reviewed/accepted the data, and published the LPV approaches on July 11th.
We want to thank our management team, the FAA and Flight Tech Engineering for their cooperation and assistance in accomplishing these important safety enhancements at KBLM.
These approaches give our aviators more choices and help us on our mission to make KBLM one of the safest privately owned, public-use Airports in the northeast.
