What Food Can I Have on a Private Jet Charter?

15 February 2021   Charter Flights Monmouth Jet Center

Private jet charters are a preferred method of travel for many reasons, like convenience, flexibility, security, and privacy, just to name a few. If you’re planning to charter a private jet, you may also be wondering what range of food will be available on the plane. Especially, if it’s a long-haul flight during which you’ll be eating several meals.

Food options on private jet charters are plentiful:

  • Just like every other element of your flight, the food and drink on a private jet charter can be customized to your every need.
  • You have the option of creating your own menu or leaving it to the charter company. For busy international travelers, they often don’t have time to think about what food they want to eat during their flight. If you’re too busy to create your own menu, or if you’d rather leave it up to the charter company, you’re still guaranteed a range of fresh, delicious options while on board.
  • Nearly all food allergies and dietary requirements can be accommodated. From vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, keto, paleo, and more, a private jet charter can accommodate your dietary requirements. If you or any other passengers have any food allergies, we recommend providing the charter company with a list ahead of time to ensure they can comply.
  • Will you be celebrating in the sky? Perhaps a birthday or an anniversary? Let your charter company know of any special occasions so they can have some champagne ready for you when you board!
  • Most private jets also have a self-service area where you can help yourself to water, assorted teas and coffees, and other drinks. There are usually small snack bars too, for smaller bites and finger foods. If there are certain items you want stocked in the self-service bar, let the charter company know ahead of time so they can have it ready for you.

Wondering what the most expensive things money can buy are?

9 November 2020   Hangar Space Monmouth Jet Center

Everyone loves a bit of luxury, and at Monmouth Airport we’re no different. Whether you’ve got extra cash to burn or you just want to indulge in a bit of daydreaming, let’s take a look at some of the most expensive things that money can buy.

Superyachts: What makes a yacht a superyacht? Generally defined as boats that are at least 80 feet in length, superyachts start at around $175 million, and that’s only for the boat itself. Docking, maintenance, cleaning, staff salaries, and other expenses mean that these ultra-luxurious vessels require a steady flow of money to keep them operational. Superyachts are completely customizable and no amenity is considered too bizarre – from aquariums to helipads, you can truly have it all.

A ticket to outer space: We all dreamed about being an astronaut when we were kids, right? Now, thanks to Virgin Group owner Richard Branson, your dream can become a reality with the Virgin Galactic space tour, priced at $250,000 per passenger. You’ll enjoy the breathtaking views of Earth from outer space during this unforgettable journey.

Private islands: For those who are sick of crowded beaches, packed hotels, and the lack of privacy during vacation, private islands might be the answer. Ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars to a few million dollars, private islands offer you the ultimate in relaxation, seclusion, and tranquility.

Private jets: Imagine never having to wait in another long security line, never having to show up to the airport three hours early, and never worrying about lost luggage again. Sounds appealing, right? The freedom, the convenience, and the comfort all explain why people often invest in private jets. And private jets aren’t only for purchase – you can rent a private jet for your next getaway, probably for a cheaper price than you think.

Custom hangar space just for you

For those who own a private jet, or who rent one frequently, you know how convenient it is to be able to hop up and down the coast for a long weekend, or fly over to the Jersey Shore for a spontaneous beach getaway. You also know it’s essential to have your own hangar space, and larger commercial airports are often full, with waiting lists that are months long. Smaller executive airports like Monmouth Airport have aircraft hangars available now, with other attractive perks like around-the-clock on-site aircraft maintenance.

Turboprops & Twin Pistons: Know Your Options

2 November 2020   Charter Flights Hangar Space

We’re huge aircraft enthusiasts at Monmouth Airport. Over the years we’ve enjoyed seeing people experience the luxury and the convenience of private planes, and we welcome all flying enthusiasts to share our passion for traveling and exploring the skies. When choosing your aircraft there are many things to think about, and one decision you’ll need to make is between a turboprop aircraft or a twin piston aircraft. So what are the major differences between these two types of aircraft?

Turboprops

Turboprop aircraft are ideal for journeys that are less than 500 miles, and they can easily land in places considered less accessible like shorter runways and large grass fields. If you’re riding in a turboprop aircraft you can usually land very close to your destination, at a smaller executive airport for example, making the journey more convenient for you.

Compared to jets, turboprops are less expensive – from operating costs to maintenance costs to fuel costs and other expenses, they’re an overall more cost-effective option. Their lower costs are reflected in their size, as most turboprops can hold anywhere from 4 – 8 passengers, but that doesn’t mean they are any less spacious or less comfortable than twin piston planes. You’ll still be able to relax in style as you enjoy the ride.

Twin pistons

Twin piston aircraft can hold up to six passengers, and they’re well-suited for short flights around 300 miles or less. If you’re looking to hop up and down the coast for a long weekend, or take an impromptu vacation at the Jersey Shore, a twin piston may be the best choice. These aircraft usually operate under altitude restrictions, meaning they can only ascend up to a certain point, which is yet another reason that twin pistons are an excellent choice for short trips.

Because twin piston aircraft have two engines, they can reach faster cruise speeds and climb faster than single engine planes. These aircraft can also access shorter runways, similar to turboprops, and they’re able to land at smaller, executive airports like Monmouth Airport.

Invest in your own hangar space

Whichever type of aircraft you determine is the best for you, one thing is certain – having your own hangar space is a very worthy investment. Many large commercial airports do have aircraft hangars, but the waiting list can be long and you’re not guaranteed a spot. Choose a smaller executive airport and enjoy the convenience, your own hangar space, and on-site, around-the-clock aircraft maintenance.

5 Questions to ask your charter broker

19 October 2020   Hangar Space

Private jet charter brokers act as the middle person between you and private jet companies, and they’re responsible for a variety of things including arranging aircraft leases, finding you the best private jet for your needs, and helping to book flights, to name a few. At Monmouth Airport we recommend doing a bit of research before deciding on a charter broker, because choosing a private jet is a big decision and safety is of the utmost importance. Here are five questions to ask potential charter brokers that’ll help you pick the best one for you:

  • How long have you been in business? You want a broker who can demonstrate longevity in the industry, because their knowledge and experience will be a valuable part of the brokering process.
  • Can you share your client reviews? Ideally, you’ll choose a charter broker who has a proven track record of satisfied clients. In addition to reading reviews the broker gives you, it’s worth your time to do your own internet searches and check independent review sites to get an idea of people’s experiences.
  • What accreditations and industry memberships do you have? You want a broker whose company has gone through voluntary accreditation programs because it shows they take their job seriously. They should also be a member of certain industry organizations like BACA, NBAA, and EBAA. These organizations have strict standards and being a member of them reflects positively on a company.
  • Can you tell me about your safety standards? Safety is of the utmost importance, and reputable charter brokers abide by the most rigorous safety standards. Ask them to explain how they choose which jet companies to partner with, what their vetting processes are, and any other safety procedures they have.
  • What’s included in the price? When a broker gives you a quote, it’s your responsibility to verify what that quote includes. Some companies include things like taxes and catering fees in their initial quote, while some might not include these costs until after you’ve approved the cost.

Why invest in your own hangar space?

For those who have their own private jets, investing in your own aircraft hangar at a smaller executive airport is certainly worth it. Commercial airports often have long waiting lists, but executive airports like Monmouth Airport can accommodate your aircraft with no wait. Knowing that you always have your own hangar space makes traveling more convenient and less stressful, and you can come and go as you please uninterrupted.

Can private jets land anywhere?

5 October 2020   Hangar Space

Private jets come with many perks: you can fly at your convenience and determine your own take-off time, you don’t have waste hours standing around the boarding gate, you don’t have to check your luggage or worry about lost bags, and you’ll have complete privacy for the duration of your flight. But one question lots of people have is, can private jets land anywhere?

The answer isn’t as straightforward as a simple yes or no, so let’s explore some different scenarios and preferences:

Private jets can land at large commercial airports, but there may be long waits. Hundreds of flights land at major airports like JKF and LaGuardia every single day, and private jets are often required to wait before landing. So, while private jets can land at busy commercial airports like these, most people prefer to use smaller, private airports like Monmouth Airport because they’re less likely to experience delays.

Many pilots prefer landing at smaller executive airports because they’re more efficient. Flying a private jet means you’re responsible for paying fuel, ramp, and landing charges. Commercial airports are often more expensive, so there’s a chance you’ll pay more. Due to congestion, private jets are often rushed off the runway upon landing, adding to the stress of landing at a crowded, busy airport. Using a private airport makes the entire experience more efficient – cheaper fees, you won’t be hurried off the runway, and you won’t experience congestion upon landing.

Executive airports have amenities that commercial airports don’t have. Once you land your private jet, you need somewhere to store it until you’re ready to fly again. There are often long waiting lists for hangar space at busy commercial airports, and their fees can be expensive. Smaller executive airports like Monmouth Airport have affordable aircraft hangars with no wait time, making it convenient for you.

The benefits of having your own hangar space

Having your own hangar space comes with many benefits. Unlike landing at busy commercial airports, when you have your own hangar space at an executive airport you know there’s always a space for you. You can take off and land at your own convenience, and you’ll never need to put your name on a waiting list. Also, many private airports also have on-site aircraft maintenance teams who will service your aircraft and keep it in prime condition.
