There is something fascinating about seeing where business aviation is headed, and then thinking about what those developments could mean for the aircraft and operations closer to home. Every year, the National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition, better known as NBAA-BACE, brings together aircraft manufacturers, technology companies, operators, aviation professionals, and other members of the industry to do exactly that.

The 2026 NBAA-BACE is scheduled for October 20–22 in Las Vegas, with the main exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention Center and an aircraft display at Henderson Executive Airport. While Monmouth Jet Center won’t be in attendance as we are busy finishing up exciting runway improvements, the NBAA-BACE is still worth watching from New Jersey! The ideas, aircraft, technologies, operational strategies, and regulatory discussions presented at a national business aviation event can provide useful context for all the aviation professionals here in the Northeast.

So, what should NJ business aviation pay attention to this year? Let’s take a closer look.

What Is the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Why It Matters

NBAA-BACE is one of the major events on the business aviation calendar. The event combines a large exhibition with education sessions, networking opportunities, and an aircraft display. NBAA describes the convention as a showcase for the latest innovations and services in business aviation and a meeting place for leaders shaping the industry’s future. That makes it relevant beyond Las Vegas.

A New Jersey aircraft owner isn’t necessarily looking for the same thing as a large corporate flight department. A charter operator has different priorities from an individual pilot. For NJ operators, keeping an eye on these developments can help when making decisions about aircraft, equipment, services, and operations.

NBAA-BACE 2026 Dates, Location, and What’s on Display

The 2026 NBAA-BACE takes place October 20–22, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event also includes the NBAA Aircraft Connection at Henderson Executive Airport, where attendees can see business aircraft in person. NBAA currently lists Aircraft Connection for the afternoon of October 20 and all day October 21.

NBAA says manufacturers bringing aircraft to the 2026 event include Aviat, Boeing Business Jets, Bombardier, Cirrus Aircraft, Daher, Dassault, Epic, Gulfstream Aerospace, Honda Aircraft, Piaggio Aero, Pilatus, Piper, Robinson Helicopter, SyberJet, and Textron Aviation. For aircraft owners, the static display is particularly useful because aircraft are much easier to evaluate when you can see them in person. Cabin layouts, avionics, accessibility, storage, cockpit design, and overall size are difficult to appreciate from a brochure alone.

Key Topics Expected to Dominate Discussion in 2026

Sustainability is another area to watch. The 2026 event includes a Business Aviation Sustainability Summit, reflecting the industry’s continuing focus on emissions, efficiency, and the technologies and operational practices that may shape aviation’s future.

Safety and human factors: Aviation safety isn’t limited to the aircraft itself. Training, communication, decision-making, procedures, and organizational culture all contribute to safe operations.

Technology: New avionics and aircraft systems continue to change the cockpit. Owners considering an upgrade can watch what manufacturers are introducing and think about which developments have practical value for their own aircraft.

Security: Business aviation involves people, aircraft, destinations, and sensitive business information. Security discussions can be relevant to both corporate operators and private aircraft owners.

Regulatory compliance: Rules and reporting requirements can affect how aircraft are operated, maintained, and managed. Staying informed is particularly important for charter and commercial operators.

What NJ Operators and Owners Can Take Away From the Show

You don’t have to travel to Las Vegas to benefit from paying attention to NBAA-BACE.For New Jersey’s business aviation community, the most useful takeaway may simply be understanding the direction in which the industry is moving. New aircraft are being introduced. Avionics are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Safety and security remain central concerns, while sustainability and operational efficiency continue to receive attention.

Those trends eventually make their way into local aviation.

At Monmouth Jet Center, we understand that pilots and aircraft owners have different needs depending on how they use their aircraft. More importantly, we’re always striving to improve all of our services, from our FBO to hangar space to renovating our runway.
